Bridgeport resident Tyevhon “Twin” King has been sentenced to 121 months in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to distributing several kilograms of heroin in the area.
King, 31, was a member of a Bridgeport-based heroin trafficking organization, that between April 2015 and March last year, received at least 30 kilograms of heroin that had been transported from Mexico. The drug was then distributed in and around Bridgeport. The investigation, which included the controlled purchase of heroin from King, found that he received and distributed at least three kilograms.
John Durham, the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, said that during the investigation, King had several vehicles seized which contain “traps,” which are used to conceal narcotics and contraband.
On March 16 last year, King and six others were charged with heroin trafficking and other offenses. King had been detained since his arrest on March 24. He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute more than one kilogram of heroin on Feb. 13.
